While most governments have their own mint for making legal tender coins, few specialists make gold coins, except those producing bullion coins. The principal mints striking gold coins are:

Perth Mint (Australia), operated by the Western Australian government’s Gold Corporation
Austrian Mint, making Philharmoniker coins and formerly, 100 Corona restrike
Royal Canadian Mint, making Maple Leaf bullion coins and special issues
China Gold Coin, Beijing, making Panda bullion coins
Casa de Moneda (Mexico), making Centenario coins
Singapore Mint, part of Chartered Industries, making some special gold coin issues
South African Mint, making Krugerrand and some special issues of one or two rand coins
Royal Mint (United Kingdom), making Britannia bullion coins, Sovereigns and some special issue proof coins for other clients
United States Mint, making Eagle bullion coins.
