Slimes

The fine fraction of tailings discharged from a mill after the valuable minerals have been recovered. Sometimes re-treated as technology improves for further gold recovery. The term also refers to fine solid material that collects below the anode during electrorefining and may contain valuable precious and other metals that are subsequently recovered.
