Company Description

• Echo Bay Mines operates two large-scale, low-grade open-pit/heap leach gold mines in Nevada, Round Mountain (50% owned) and McCoy/Cove, and the Kettle River underground operation in Washington State. McCoy/Cove is also a major source of silver, but scheduled for closure mid-2002.
• Operations were restarted mid-April 2000 at the Lupin mine, in northern Canada, at a rate of 150,000 oz/y through to year 2004, following a two year shutdown.
