Company Description

Currently produces gold from mines in the Leonora, Laverton and Southern Cross regions of Western Australia.
It is also the world's largest producer of tantalum concentrates, currently accounting for 25% of supply. In June 2000 it announced plans to double production over next three years. The expansion programmes remain within budget and on schedule for commissioning in the March 2002 quarter.
Approval has been given for the first stage of a minerals sands venture in Murray Basin of Eastern Australia. The capital cost is projected at A$20 million and production is scheduled for early 2001.
Acquired Pacmin's Tarmoola and Carosue Dam mine in December 2001.
Tarmoola has been integrated with operations in the Leonora region.
