Formed in 1996 from gold and other mineral interests of Anglovaal, including Hartebeestfontein, Loraine and Eastern Transvaal Consolidated (ETC) gold mines. The gold interests later focused into Avgold. Loraine closed in 1999 and Hartebeestfontein sold to Durban Deep at end of 1999. See Avgold for current interests.
