After working for Shell (UK) and the Institute of Geological Sciences, she joined Consolidated Gold Fields in 1981 as a member of the gold survey team. Since 1984 she has been an independent consultant producing precious metal studies for mining companies and investment institutions, including Gold Fields Mineral Services on their annual gold and silver surveys since 1994. She co-authored The Gold Companion with Timothy Green.
