Métaux Précieux SA Metalor

This precious metals specialist at Neuchatel, Switzerland, had its origins in a firm of gold smelters and watch-case manufacturers, Martin de Pury & Cie, at Le Locle in 1852, which was taken over by Swiss Bank Corporation in 1918. It became a separate subsidiary company of Swiss Bank Corporation in 1936. The historic link with the watch industry remains through the fabrication of semi-finished products, but embraces jewellery alloys, dental golds, electrical, electronic and chemical products, together with the recovery, smelting and recycling of precious metals and production of the complete range of gold bars. The link with Swiss Bank Corporation ceased in 1998 when that bank was taken over by Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS AG). UBS AG retain a minority holding in the refinery. The Metalor group has representation in Germany, Denmark, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and the USA.
