Singapore Exchange

The Singapore Exchange (SGX) was formed on 1 December 1999, by the merger of two well-established and respected financial institutions - the Stock Exchange of Singapore (SES) and the Singapore International Monetary Exchange Limited (SIMEX). SGX is the first demutualised, integrated securities and derivatives exchange in Asia Pacific.

On 23 November 2000, SGX became a public-listed company, with 1,000,000,000 ordinary shares outstanding. The broadened shareholder base has better positioned SGX to seize the opportunities of the future, and to enjoy the flexibility available to any listed company in terms of capital structure, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions.
