Valcambi SA was founded in 1961 and became a fully owned subsidiary of Crédit
Suisse, Zurich, in 1980. As of January 1997 the entire share capital is in the
possession of Crédit Suisse First Boston,
Zurich. The refinery, located at Balerna, is active in gold, silver, platinum
and palladium refining and recycling. It produces a wide range of specialist gold
products including dental alloys, coins,
medals, galvanic salts, and small Crédit Suisse ingots.
Its bars have acceptable London good
delivery status.
